Coimbatore District Collector Details Election Conduct Rules

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati released a statement on 3rd April 2024 detailing the rules and regulations to be followed amidst the ongoing election conduct rules, ahead of the 2024 Parliamentary elections.

Coimbatore: In a significant announcement aimed at ensuring fair and disciplined conduct during the forthcoming 2024 Parliamentary elections, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati issued a detailed statement on 3rd April 2024. The statement emphasized the importance of adhering to the election conduct rules that have been in effect since 16.03.2024.

According to the Collector, private and public organizations planning indoor meetings related to election activities must seek prior approval from the Assistant Election Officer through a single window application, at least 48 hours in advance.

Furthermore, the rules mandate that candidates seeking to collect votes through the use of stickers on private buildings or vehicles must obtain permission from the respective owners and an approval letter must be secured before proceeding. Such permissions, once granted, should be reported to the Assistant Election Officer within three days.

Violations of these rules, including unauthorized use of stickers, will be considered as breaches of the election conduct regulations, and actions will be taken accordingly. The Collector's announcement serves as a reminder of the stringent measures in place to ensure a fair electoral process.
