Karpagam Institute of Technology Hosts RIVALS 2024 National Mini Bike Race

RIVALS 2024, a national level mini bike race, was held on March 22, 2024, by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Karpagam Institute of Technology, featuring competitions among over 25 teams.


Coimbatore: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Karpagam Institute of Technology proudly conducted the fifth edition of the national level mini bike race, RIVALS 2024, on March 22, 2024, at 9:00 AM. The event, which has become a highlight on the academic calendar, saw participation from over 25 teams representing various colleges.

The esteemed Chief Guests for the event were Sargunan Neelamegam, Managing Director of Bluesky Hose Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, and B. Krishnakumar, Project Manager at ISNEE Motorsports. Dr. P. Manimaran, Principal of Karpagam Institute of Technology, along with Dr. D. Bhanu, Director of Corporate Relations for Karpagam Institutions, K.M.G. Athi Pandiyan, Public Relations Officer, Heads of various departments, faculty members, and a large number of students, also graced the occasion.



RIVALS 2024 was not just a race; it was an intensive learning experience designed to push the limits of the participants' technical, intellectual, and multitasking abilities. The event aimed at fostering knowledge sharing, encouraging innovation, and providing a challenging environment for students to translate their engineering designs into functioning mini bikes. The competition’s format involved a rally, followed by an endurance test of the vehicles, challenging the teams to showcase their skills and the durability of their creations.

The competition judged entries on design, evaluation, innovation, and presentation, with the winning teams receiving cash prizes and certificates. The event concluded with Dr. A. Saiyathibrahim, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, extending his gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and sponsors for making RIVALS 2024 a success.
