Annamalai Balloon videos on social media are fake; Coimbatore Collector Clarifies

In Coimbatore, a video showing balloons with Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai's image went viral on social media. Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati clarified that the video was digitally created, and no such balloons were flown.


Coimbatore: A video that went viral on social media, depicting balloons flying with the image of Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai, caught the attention of Coimbatore's citizens. The footage led to a request to the Coimbatore District Collector to consider the expenditure for these balloons under the candidate's account.

On March 22, Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati addressed the controversy, stating that the video circulating on social media platforms was digitally created. He clarified that no balloons bearing Annamalai's image were actually flown. This clarification comes amidst various speculations and discussions on social media regarding the video.









This incident highlights the impact of digital content on social perceptions and the quick response from the administration to clarify facts and prevent misinformation.
