Drone Flight Ban Imposed in Coimbatore Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s Visit

In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, Coimbatore City Police have declared several areas as temporary Red Zones, banning drone flights from March 15 to March 19, including R.S. Puram and other key locations.


Coimbatore: In a preemptive security measure ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit, the Coimbatore City Police have announced a temporary ban on drone flights in multiple parts of the city. The ban, effective from today, March 15, until March 19, 2024, encompasses various usual and temporary Red Zone areas across Coimbatore.

Prime Minister Modi is expected to participate in several events in Kanyakumari district on March 17, following which a roadshow is planned in Coimbatore on March 18. The roadshow is set to take place from the Housing Unit area on Mettupalayam Road to R.S. Puram.

To ensure the safety and security of the event, the Coimbatore City Police have extended the drone flight ban to include specific localities such as Thudiyalur, Goundampalayam, Saibaba Colony, Vadavalli, and R.S. Puram, designating them as temporary Red Zones.

This measure reflects the authorities' commitment to maintaining a secure environment for the Prime Minister's visit and the associated public gatherings. Residents and drone enthusiasts are advised to adhere to the temporary restrictions, contributing to the smooth conduct of the scheduled events.
