MLA Vanathi Srinivasan Urges Activation of the Four Announced Industrial Estates in Coimbatore

Coimbatore South Constituency MLA Vanathi Srinivasan calls for the swift completion of infrastructure facilities to bring the four announced industrial estates in Coimbatore into operation, aiming to bolster Tamil Nadu's economic growth.

Coimbatore: In a push for economic development, Vanathi Srinivasan, MLA for Coimbatore South, has made a strong plea for the operationalization of four industrial estates announced for Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu's second-largest city known for its industrial growth. On March 14, she released a statement expressing concern over the delayed operationalization of these estates, attributing the delay to the lack of essential infrastructure facilities such as substations and roads.

Coimbatore, a district at the forefront of industrial development in Tamil Nadu, contributes significantly to the state's economy, particularly through the Kongu region. However, the delay in bringing the announced industrial estates into operation has caused distress among entrepreneurs. These estates include two industrial parks under the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) and the Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate, along with the Military Hardware Park in Varapatti, all of which are yet to see completion of basic infrastructure.

Investors who have applied for space in these estates, particularly in the Military Hardware Park, have reported delays, affecting their plans to start operations. Srinivasan's statement highlighted the necessity of completing infrastructure developments within three months to facilitate business activities and attract more investors to these estates.

This call to action is not just about Coimbatore’s economic development but also about the broader impact on Tamil Nadu’s growth. Srinivasan’s appeal stresses the urgency for the state's Industries Minister, Thiru. T.R.B. Rajaa, to focus on expediting the work on these estates to enhance the state's industrial landscape and economic prosperity.
