He accused neighboring countries like Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Cambodia of contributing to the crisis and praised Prime Minister Modi's stringent measures against drug trafficking.
Highlighting the internal challenges, Annamalai emphasized the need for a combined effort from both law enforcement and family monitoring to curb the menace. He criticized the current state of affairs where individuals like Jafer Sadik, once arrested for drug trafficking, are now operating at much larger scales, indicating a failure in continuous surveillance and law enforcement.
Annamalai's remarks also covered the importance of BJP's plan to launch a campaign against drug abuse in Tenkasi, with the participation of central ministers, aiming to unite all sectors of society against this issue. He responded to questions about political symbols for Naam Tamilar Katchi and Seeman, suggesting that legitimacy and formal recognition are prerequisites for such entitlements. Furthermore, he defended the BJP's use of images of MGR and Jayalalithaa, stating that Prime Minister Modi respects and discusses all leaders, irrespective of their party affiliations, highlighting a non-partisan appreciation for their contributions to the nation.
The BJP State President criticized the opposition for lacking a constructive path and noted that his focus remains on the party's objectives for the upcoming parliamentary elections, adhering to any directive from Prime Minister Modi, underscoring his commitment and readiness for any role assigned within the party framework.
