A state-level meeting organized by the United Teachers' Federation in Udumalai, Tirupur district, on Dharapuram Road, stressed the need for regularizing part-time teachers after 12 years of service. Resolutions were passed, including sports achievements recognition and the primary demand for permanent employment.

Coimbatore: In a pivotal state-level meeting held in a private marriage hall on Dharapuram Road in Udumalai, Tirupur district, the collective voice of part-time teachers across Tamil Nadu was heard loud and clear. The meeting, organized by the United Teachers' Federation, unfolded today, featuring seminars, consultative sessions, and a felicitation ceremony.

The core agenda of the gathering was to address the long-standing demand of part-time teachers, who have been serving diligently for over 12 years, to be made permanent. This demand stems from their significant contributions to the education sector, notably in leading their students to various sports victories and other achievements.

During the meeting, special awards were bestowed upon those teachers who have not only excelled in their professional duties but also played a crucial role in the holistic development of their students through sports and extracurricular activities. The assembly unanimously passed resolutions, highlighting the need for the government to acknowledge the contributions of these part-time educators by offering them full-time, permanent positions.

Prominent figures including the state president Gauthaman, state secretary Yasodha, state treasurer Vaigai Prabha, state organizational secretary Kumaresan, Tirupur district president Anandan, and district public relations officer Ramakrishnan, along with over a hundred district and union-level officials from across Tamil Nadu, participated in this significant event.
