Following the directive of the District Police Superintendent to eradicate the sale of illicit drugs, police in Valparai sealed a grocery store found with approximately 2 kilograms of narcotics, issuing a stern warning against similar activities.

Coimbatore: In a decisive crackdown against the illegal drug trade in Valparai, Coimbatore district, the police force, acting on the orders of the District Police Superintendent, has intensified its efforts to eliminate the circulation of illicit drugs. As part of these operations, a team led by Inspector Anandakumar and Assistant Inspector Ponraj conducted raids in various parts of Valparai.

During one such raid, the team discovered a hidden stash of approximately 2 kilograms of narcotics within a grocery store located in the banana plantation area. Following the seizure of the drugs, a case was registered against the store owners, and the establishment was promptly sealed under the supervision of Food Safety Officer Kalimuthu and the police team.

This action comes as a part of a broader initiative to curb the menace of drug trafficking in the region. The police have issued a stern warning that any shop found engaging in the sale of narcotic substances will face severe penalties. The move underscores the law enforcement's commitment to maintaining public safety and health by ensuring that such illegal activities are brought to a halt.

The sealing of the grocery store serves as a cautionary tale to other potential offenders and is a clear indication of the authorities' zero-tolerance policy towards the illegal drug trade. The police are determined to continue their vigilant efforts to eradicate this threat from the community, ensuring a safer environment for the residents of Valparai.
