Traffic Diversions in Coimbatore for Koni Amman Temple Car Festival

Coimbatore: In a recent press release dated February 25, the Coimbatore City Traffic Police have announced significant traffic diversions ahead of the Koni Amman Temple Car Festival scheduled for Wednesday, February 28. The changes are aimed at ensuring public safety and minimizing traffic congestion during the festival.

To facilitate the smooth conduct of the event, vehicular movement from Perur towards Setti Street and Raja Street into the city will be prohibited. As an alternative, vehicles coming from Perur are advised to turn right near the Selvapuram Municipal School, proceeding towards Ashok Nagar Roundana via Perur Bypass Road and Ukkadam, to reach their destinations.

Furthermore, vehicles intending to travel to Perur through Vysial Street and Setti Street will now need to navigate via Ukkadam Perur Bypass Road, Ashok Nagar Roundana, Sethumavoyal Checkpost, and Sivalaya Junction to reach Perur Road.

Buses and other vehicles coming from Marudhamalai and Thadagam roads towards Raj Street via Gandhipark and Three Kambam Telugu Street are instructed to reroute through Gandhipark, DB Road, and then proceed via Mettupalayam Road, Shanmuga Theatre Road, and Devanga High School Road to reach Avinashi Road Flyover.

Additionally, buses from Marudhamalai and Thadagam roads towards Raj Street via Lal Bahadur Shastri Street (LBS Street), DB Road, Three Kambam, Telugu Street, are directed to follow a revised route including DB Road, Mettupalayam Road, Kamrajapuram Junction, Shanmuga Theatre Road, and Devanga High School Road to access Avinashi Road Flyover.

These traffic diversions are part of the Coimbatore City Traffic Police's efforts to manage the anticipated increase in pedestrian and vehicular traffic during the Koni Amman Temple Car Festival, ensuring a safe and orderly event for all participants and visitors.
