College Student Loses Life in Bus Collision in Madampatti, Coimbatore

A tragic incident occurred near a petrol pump in Madampatti, Coimbatore, where a college student, Loghanathan (20), from Amman Nagar South Garden, lost his life after his two-wheeler collided with a private college bus while trying to overtake an Omni van. He was returning from his college function.


Coimbatore: A heartbreaking road accident claimed the life of a young college student in Madampatti, Coimbatore, on Friday. Loghanathan (20), a second-year student from a college in Perur, was en route to his college's annual day celebration when the accident occurred.

The incident took place near a petrol pump in Madampatti, where it is reported that Loghanathan attempted to overtake an Omni van on his two-wheeler. During the maneuver, his vehicle collided with the van, lost control, and subsequently crashed into an oncoming private college bus. Tragically, Loghanathan was caught under the bus's wheel, leading to his immediate demise at the scene.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Perur police promptly arrived at the location, retrieved Loghanathan's body, and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case regarding the incident and are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the full details of the tragic event. The shocking moments leading up to the accident were captured on CCTV, adding to the distressing nature of this unfortunate loss.
