The Soundararaja Perumal Temple in Udumalai conducted the Vishnu Sahasranama Laksharchana, along with various rituals including Maha Sankalpam, Vasudeva Punyakam, and special Deepa Aradhana, culminating in the divine marriage ceremony of the deities.

Udumalai: The Soundararaja Perumal Temple, located on Nellukkadai Street in Udumalai, Tirupur district, is currently the site of the auspicious Vishnu Sahasranama Laksharchana, coinciding with the Rathasapthami day. This venerable event commenced with the Maha Sankalpam at 7 AM, followed by the Vasudeva Punyakam, a ritual conducted to invoke blessings for the community. The morning rituals were succeeded by the Deepa Aradhana at 12:30 PM, illuminating the temple in a serene glow.

In the evening, at 6 PM, the Vishnu Sahasranama and Panchopanishad Homam were performed, drawing devotees to participate in the sacred chants and offerings. The Laksharchana is set to begin at 7 AM the following day, where thousands of names of Lord Vishnu will be recited in devotion. The Homam is scheduled to conclude at 9 AM, leading up to the highlight of the festivities - the Thirukalyanam, or the divine marriage ceremony of the deities, at 12 PM.

The celebrations will conclude with a special Deepa Aradhana in the evening, where a silver Kaappu (protective ornament) will be adorned on the deity, marking the end of the religious ceremonies. This grand event not only showcases the temple's rich tradition and cultural heritage but also offers a spiritual retreat for devotees, enhancing their faith and devotion.

The Laksharchana Puja at Soundararaja Perumal Temple is a significant religious event that reinforces the cultural and spiritual fabric of Udumalai, bringing together the community in a shared experience of devotion and celebration.
