Worker Dies Attempting to Save Colleagues in Coimbatore Septic Tank Incident

In Udayampalayam, Coimbatore, a worker named Mohanasundaram perished due to suffocation after attempting to rescue his colleagues, Guna and Ram, who were struggling to breathe while cleaning a septic tank.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident unfolded in Udayampalayam, Coimbatore, when Mohanasundaram, a worker, died of suffocation after attempting to save his colleagues who were cleaning a septic tank at a private apartment complex. The incident occurred on February 8th, when Mohanasundaram, along with two other workers, Guna and Ram, were called in by the owner of the apartment to clean the septic tank. During the task, Guna and Ram experienced breathing difficulties, and in his effort to save them, Mohanasundaram entered the tank and subsequently suffocated.

Immediate efforts were made to rescue him, and he was rushed to the government hospital via ambulance. However, he succumbed to his conditions en route to the hospital. The Peelamedu police have been informed of the incident and have initiated an investigation. Fortunately, the two workers Mohanasundaram attempted to save are reported to be in good health.
