Coimbatore: Commemorating the Kumbhabhishekam of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a special worship was conducted by the BJP at the Sri Ramar Bhajana Temple near RS Puram, Coimbatore.

BJP National Women's Wing leader and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan attended the event, which also featured a live broadcast of the Kumbhabhishekam on an LED screen from a vehicle. The police expressed objections to the unauthorized roadside broadcast, leading to a brief confrontation between BJP members and law enforcement, causing some commotion in the area.

Speaking to reporters, Vanathi Srinivasan reflected on the historic significance of the day, marking 540 years since Ramar's presence in Ayodhya. She honored the sacrifices of countless individuals who fought for this cause and remarked on the historical invasions and attempts to undermine Hindu temples and culture. She praised the reinstatement of Sanatan Dharma's strength and expressed gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the Ram Temple.

Srinivasan criticized the Tamil Nadu government's actions, accusing it of hindering religious practices and broadcasts, likening its approach to Mughal rule. She insisted that the faith in Ramar cannot be altered by any governance and that the people of Tamil Nadu would teach a lesson if attempts were made to suppress their devotion. She also highlighted the constitutional right to worship and accused the state government of spreading falsehoods.

Srinivasan emphasized that the Ram Temple, built through public donations, symbolizes Indian culture. She underscored Prime Minister Modi's efforts towards achieving Gandhiji's vision of Ram Rajya and challenged the Tamil Nadu government to understand the significance of the temple, which stands as a testament to people's devotion over centuries.
