Young Man Arrested Under POCSO for Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl in Karumathampatti

Aravind Kumar from Karumathampatti's Umanath Colony was arrested under the POCSO Act for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, taking advantage of his wife's absence.


Coimbatore: In a distressing incident, a young man was arrested for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Karumathampatti. The accused, identified as Aravind Kumar from Umanath Colony, reportedly committed the crime taking advantage of the situation when his wife went to her mother's house.

Aravind Kumar, who was known to the victim, allegedly lured the minor girl to his house with the promise of marriage. He then forced himself upon her, committing the assault. Following the incident, a complaint was filed, leading to Kumar's arrest under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act by the Karumathampatti Women's Police.

The swift action by the police in responding to the complaint and arresting the accused underlines the seriousness of the offense and the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold child protection laws. The incident has raised concerns about child safety and the importance of vigilance in the community to protect minors from such heinous acts.
