Jewelry Theft on a Bus in Coimbatore Leaves Woman in Shock

Coimbatore woman reports theft of 3½ sovereigns of jewelry on a crowded bus, police investigation underway.


Coimbatore: In a distressing incident in Coimbatore, 27-year-old Sobhana from Sundarapuram Reddiyar Colony fell victim to theft while traveling on a private bus. The incident occurred yesterday when Sobhana was en route from Sundarapuram. Amidst the crowd, an unidentified individual stealthily stole 3½ sovereigns of jewelry from her bag.

Sobhana realized the theft only after alighting at Oppanakara Street Bus Stop in Prakasam. Shocked to find her jewelry missing, she immediately filed a complaint at the Coimbatore Kadaiveethi Police Station.

The police have registered a case and are actively searching for the unidentified suspect responsible for the theft. This incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and safety measures in public transportation, especially in crowded conditions.
