Pongal Festival Celebrations at Coimbatore District Collector's Office

The Coimbatore District Collector's office hosted a vibrant Pongal celebration with traditional festivities, involving all department employees in cultural activities.


Coimbatore: Today, the Coimbatore District Collector's office was abuzz with festive spirit as employees from all departments, dressed in traditional attire, celebrated the Pongal festival. They gathered in the office premises, drawing kolams and preparing Pongal in new pots. District Revenue Officer Sharmila, along with her colleagues, actively participated in drawing kolams and the celebrations.



Employees, including temporary staff and officials, engaged in traditional games like tug-of-war and Uri Adithal (hitting the pot) to the rhythm of Jamab music, adding to the jubilance of the occasion. The highlight was the District Collector joining the employees in dancing and participating in tug-of-war, bringing joy and a sense of unity among everyone present. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage and the camaraderie within the district administration, celebrating Pongal in a traditional yet inclusive manner.
