Coimbatore Bus Services Resume Amidst Transport Workers' Strike

Despite the ongoing transport workers' strike, all buses in Coimbatore were operational today, thanks to the efforts of the Workers' Progressive Union and INTUC.


Coimbatore: Amidst a strike by transport workers emphasizing a six-point demand, including better wages and working conditions, Coimbatore witnessed all its buses back in operation today. The strike, led by Anna Trade Union Council and CITU, entered its second day, affecting the city's transport services. However, members of the Workers' Progressive Union and INTUC, operating 17 depots in the city, ensured the buses ran as usual. The transport corporation confirmed that over 100 buses were operational from various depots, normalizing the city's public transportation system.
