Seven Injured After Falling During New Year Celebrations in Coimbatore

During the New Year celebrations at Valankulam in Coimbatore, seven people were injured after falling. The incident occurred amidst enthusiastic celebrations that included dancing, singing, and bike stunts.


Coimbatore: The New Year celebrations at Valankulam in Coimbatore turned chaotic when seven individuals were injured after falling during the festivities. The event, which saw the participation of youths, teenagers, and children, involved dancing, singing, and loud cheering to welcome the New Year.

In the midst of the high spirits, some youths performed bike stunts, and others rode bikes at high speeds. This led to an accident where seven people fell and sustained injuries. They were subsequently taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment, as informed by the police officers on security duty.

Additionally, there were instances of people driving under the influence of alcohol. Those individuals were taken to the police station and were released the following morning.
