Lack of Athikadavu water supply: people of Sulur road roko for 3 hours

There was a commotion as women with empty pots got down on the road and protested demanding water from the Athikadavu project. Traffic on the Trichy-Pollachi road was disrupted due to the blockade by the people of Sulur.



Coimbatore: Pappampatti village is located near Sulur in Coimbatore district. The panchayat is presently constructing new tenements in the areas under this panchayat and more than 5,000 people live in the area.

In this situation, drinking water is being supplied to them through Athikadavu water. This drinking water can come only once in 45 days.

Due to this, there is a situation where you can go a long way and catch water. Due to this, the people blocked the Trichy-Pollachi road and staged a protest as there was no continuous flow of water here.

The police held talks with those who blocked the Trichy and Pollachi road with an empty pitcher in their hands and blocked the road.



The public got into an argument with the police saying that they would not disperse till the officials arrived.

Due to this, traffic was disrupted in the area for more than three hours. Hundreds of vehicles were parked in the area, making it impossible for vehicles to move.
