Tirupur: Motor vehicle consultants have urged the traffic police to implement the old system of collecting fines from the public.

Tirupur District Motor Vehicle Consultants General Council Meeting, Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Consultants State Association Office Bearers Meeting and Flag Launch Ceremony were held at a private hall on Kangayam Road, Tirupur.

The meeting was chaired by Arivazhagan, State President and Coordinator, Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicle Consultants Welfare Association.

It was attended by more than 100 people, including state functionaries and district office-bearers.

Speaking to reporters, state president Arivazhagan said,

In order to create awareness among the public and motorists, we are conducting an awareness campaign in every district emphasizing the need to wear helmets and drive two-wheelers.

The government should take steps to implement the old practice by addressing issues like name change and HP clearance in the regional transport sector. Similarly, when motorists trespass, the traffic police will have to impose a fine on the motorists as was the case in the earlier period and collect the fine amount.

No one sees the messages sent to cell phones as text messages. There is a situation where traffic police have to pay fines while selling vehicles. The government should address the issues on these issues. This is how he spoke.
