The Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme is being implemented in 136 schools including 121 corporation schools in Coimbatore district, four schools in Madukkarai municipality and 11 schools in Mettupalayam municipality. Accordingly, breakfast scheme has been extended to 859 schools in 5 municipalities of Gudalur, Karamadai, Karumathampatti, Pollachi and Valparai in Coimbatore district and 15 blocks.

In the second phase, 44,538 children will be benefitted in 859 more schools. Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated the project at Nagapattinam on Friday.
