It has been alleged that drugs, including liquor and ganja, are being sold illegally in a petty shop in Selamparayampalayam area of Sulur in Coimbatore district.
Coimbatore: The public complained to the district collector that the police were watching with folded hands without preventing the sale of drugs in petty shops and houses.

The people of the area submitted a petition to the Coimbatore district collector demanding that the district collector should take action in this regard.

According to the people of the area, Arumugam is running a petty shop. They said they were selling drugs, including liquor and ganja, illegally there.
Not only him, Jothimani and Sathish also claimed that they were illegally selling liquor in their homes. They said they had arrested only one person if they lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.

Alleging that they were acting on the basis of money power, the public said that the sale of liquor is a major threat to women and children due to the sale of liquor there and therefore the District Collector should immediately take appropriate action against those indulging in illegal sale of liquor.
