Annamalai's yatra is a fake pilgrimage - Former IAS officer Sasikanth

Former IAS officer Sasikanth, who belongs to the Congress party, has termed BJP state president Annamalai's 'En Maan En Makkal' Yatra' as a "false yatra".

Coimbatore: Former IAS officer Sasikanth has termed BJP leader Annamalai's 'En Maan En Makkal' yatra as a "false yatra".

The All India Students' Union of the Congress party held a meeting with the office bearers of the Tamil Nadu Students' Union at a private hall next to Karumathampatti in Coimbatore district.

Former IAS officer Sasikanth, who belongs to the Congress party, attended the meeting and held discussions with the student representatives.

He explained the next steps in the student body and the activities of the organisation.

Speaking to reporters later, Sasikanth said,

Anyone can meet people and they have the right to it. But annamalai's yatra is a false yatra and it will be of no use. There will be more to it, but it will not be of any use.

For the first time in the history of India, a grand alliance has emerged. It will be welcome as it will act as a collective movement with ideas. Just like in Karnataka, we are going to do politics in Tamil Nadu as we did with a cylinder.

Cylinder is a symbol against the BJP government and it will be possible for all the people. The 2024 election is not an election between the BJP and the Congress. This is an election where people from all walks of life will stand together and oppose the BJP.

The Manipur issue is an attempt by the central government to turn all the departments held by the central government against the governments under the central government that the violence that can divide the people into two and suppress the state governments through repression. This is what he said.
