Public Request: Name the Valparai hairpin bends after Tamil name of flowers

The public, teachers and tourists of Valparai have requested the Highways Department to give glory to Tamil by naming the hairpin bends using flower names like kurinji, senkanthal, sampangi, picchi, jakaranda and chithirai konnai flower in Valparai area.


Coimbatore: There are 40 hairpin bends from Aliyar check post to Ayyarpadi Estate on the Valparai-Pollachi hill road in Coimbatore district.

The Anaimalai sub-divisional highways department should name these 40 hairpin bends in order to inform the tourists of the flowers available in the Valparai Western Ghats.
