Tirupur: All India Forward Bloc activists have petitioned the district collector's office demanding action against director Mari Selvaraj for speaking at the film's audio release function in an attempt to incite caste conflict and ban the film Maamannan.

'Maamannan,' directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Vadivelu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, is set to hit Tamil Nadu theatres today. Director Mari Selvaraj made controversial remarks about Sivaji Ganesan and Kamal Haasan's Thevar Magan at the film's audio launch on January 1st in Chennai.

While this has hurt the Thevar community, there is fear that similar remarks will be made in the film Maamannan. Action should be taken against Mari Selvaraj for his speech that created caste conflict.

The All India Forward Bloc has submitted a memorandum to the district collector's office demanding a ban on his film Maamannan.
