In Coimbatore, a man was arrested under the Goondas Act involved in dacoity

Surya (21), who was involved in a series of robberies in the Mettupalayam region, was arrested by police. He was arrested under the Goondas Act on the orders of the Coimbatore district SP and on the orders of district collector Kranthi kumar Pati.



Coimbatore: Surya (21) has been charged under the Goondas Act for his alleged involvement in a series of dacoities in the Mettupalayam area.

Surya (21), son of Balan, a Mettupalayam resident, was arrested and imprisoned after being implicated in a series of dacoity instances inside the Mettupalayam police station limits in the Coimbatore district.

Badri Narayanan, the Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, recommended that the arrested person be charged under the Goondas Act. On the basis of the recommendation, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati issued an order to prosecute the individual under the Goondas Act.

According to the order, Surya (21), an accused in the robbery case, was jailed under the Goondas Act. A copy of the order was handed over to Surya, who is in jail.
