The mayor's accusation - False propaganda on social media to defame Tirupur Corporation, DMK government

Dinesh Kumar, Mayor of Tirupur Corporation, has said that false information is being spread on social media in order to defame the DMK government and the Tirupur Corporation.

Tirupur: Tirupur Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar has stated that false information is being spread on social media to defame the DMK government and the Tirupur Corporation.

In the information obtained by the social activist under the Right to Information Act from the Tirupur Municipal Corporation administration. The Tirupur Municipal Corporation was said to have spent Rs 440 on brooms. This has come under heavy criticism on social media.

In this situation, the AIADMK and the BJP in Tirupur have expressed concerns on social media. In this regard, Tirupur Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar conducted a press conference at the Corporation office.

Then he said, "Before the DMK won the Tirupur Corporation and took charge, the items for the cleanliness drive, including brooms, were purchased in accordance with the agreement signed during the previous AIADMK rule."

In total, 10 items have been mentioned in the contract and the lowest amount has been awarded to the specified persons. The e-tender and advertisement for the same have been duly issued as per the government guidelines and the contract has been executed.

The tender was awarded to the contractors who paid the least amount in the three companies' participation, and goods were procured. On social media, misinformation is spreading that the price of a broom is Rs 440.

False propaganda is being spread to defame the Tirupur Corporation and the DMK government over the amount of personal broom made of bamboo sticks.

It has been recommended to the police to take legal action against those spreading this false propaganda. I strongly condemn those who are spreading this. All the documents in this regard are duly correct.

In this regard, an investigation has been performed between officials and contractors. If the public or opposing parties have any doubts, they can go to the corporation office at any time and get clarity.

Former Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and Minister Pollachi Jayaraman was unaware of this because it was not practised during their time.

Likewise, the immature BJP and irresponsible AIADMK ministers are spreading misinformation about it. After the DMK took over the Tirupur

Corporation, a number of schemes have been implemented and have found a place in the minds of the people.

It has now become a municipal administration that people can like. Such false information is being propagated as it is unacceptable. This is what he said.
