'The BJP is indulging in dirty politics:' Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party President, Pon Kumar

The swearing-in ceremony of the new office bearers of the Coimbatore North district of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party was held in Coimbatore. The President of the party, Pon Kumar condemned the BJP Government at the Centre for indulging in dirty politics by launching the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to paralyse the DMK government.

Coimbatore: The President of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party and Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman, Pon Kumar has lashed out at the BJP Government for indulging in dirty politics.

The Coimbatore District representatives of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party and the swearing-in ceremony of the new office bearers of Coimbatore Central and North districts were held. The event was presided over by Cruz Muthu Prince, Treasurer of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party State Youth Wing and Member of the Monitoring Committee.

Pon Kumar delivered the keynote address at the event and subsequently introduced the In-Charges of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party to the district representatives. The Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party Coimbatore North District Convenor Engineer Raja, Coimbatore Central District Convenor Vijayakumar, Coimbatore Central District Convenor Anandaraj and Tamil Nadu Building Workers Central Union Coimbatore Central District Convenor Jayapal were sworn in.

Subsequently, various resolutions were passed at the meeting. In particular, it was decided to bifurcate the district into two constituencies and establish the administration of the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party in those districts. It was also decided that the district administration would intensify the membership drive and take up the work for the same.

"Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the best states in the country in terms of industrial development, health promotion and educational development. It is a big drag on democracy that the Modi government at the Centre is conducting raids in a Minister's room in the Secretariat using enforcement agencies by the Income Tax Department, with the aim of bringing disrepute to the M K Stalin Government, which has been providing good governance.

This meeting strongly condemns this act. It is highly condemnable that in states where there is no BJP rule, the BJP is indulging in dirty politics like misusing the CBI, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department and Government agencies to subjugate the Government and buy people," lashed out Pon Kumar.

"We request the Modi Government at the Centre to stop this immediately and hence resolutions were passed," he added.

The Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party State General Secretary, Jaga Murugan, Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party General Secretary, Engineer Jagadeesan, Tamil Nadu Building Workers Central Union General Secretary Sundararajan and the Tamil Nadu Peasants and Workers Party office-bearers participated in the meeting.
