Chandrabalan (75), a resident of Varadaraj Layout near Avarampalayam in Coimbatore, had seized the property purchased in the name of his first wife Manickam by his first wife's relatives using forged documents. The CCTV footage of the policemen being beaten up and kicked out has created a stir.
Coimbatore: CCTV footage of the incident in which the owner of a house was evicted from the police after grabbing property using forged documents has gone viral on social media.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrabalan (75), son of Ayyavu, a resident of Varadaraj Layout, Avarampalayam Road in Coimbatore district. He runs a lathe machine manufacturing company. His first wife Manickam. Chandrabalan and Manickam have no children.
Due to this, Chandrabalan married Kalpana for the second time with the consent of Manickam. They have two daughters. Chandrapalan lived in the same house with his first wife Manickam and second wife Kalpana and children.
Before his second marriage, Chandrabalan purchased a plot of land in the name of his wife Manickam and built a workshop and a house on the terrace. In 2017, when Chandrabalan was not in town, Manickam's brothers came to Coimbatore. They took her and went to their native place Udumalaipettai.
Following that, Chandrabalan learned that Manickam's brothers intended to take over the land in his name.Chandrabalan has all the property deeds in his possession. Chandrabalan immediately filed a case in the court in this regard.
In 2020, he told the Saravanampatti police station in Coimbatore that Manickam's property deeds had gone missing while the case was being investigated. Manickam and his brothers retrieved the property document from the sub-registrar's office after obtaining a certificate that the document was not available.
In 2020, Chandrabalan filed a complaint with the Coimbatore municipal police commissioner. The complaint is presently under investigation. In this case, in 2020, a forged sale deed was created against a man named Manickam Mahalakshmi, who claimed ownership of the land.
In 2021, Chandrabalan lodged a complaint with the city crime branch police. Based on the complaint, the case is being investigated. In this case, Mahalakshmi, her husband Madanagopal and some other officials came to Chandrabalan's company and house the previous evening and had a dispute.
Following this, Chandrabalan went to kattoor police station to lodge a complaint. But the Kattoor police reportedly refused to receive his complaint.
In this case, Mahalakshmi, her husband Madanagopal and Kattoor police inspector Palaniammal visited Chandrabalan's house yesterday evening.
Chandrabalan, his wife, and their daughters were assaulted and thrown away. The CCTV footage of the incident has been made public. Following this, Chandrabalan and his family met with the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner today and submitted a complaint.

In the complaint, the petitioners have sought action against police inspector Palaniammal for indulging in anarchy.
