Civil services preliminary examination held at 18 centres in Coimbatore

Civil Services Preliminary Examination was held across the country today. Various officers were appointed to monitor the exam. A total of 7,742 candidates had registered to appear for the exam.

Coimbatore: The civil services examinations were held at 18 centres in Coimbatore today.

The Civil Services Preliminary Examination of the Union Public Service Commission was held across the country today. As part of this, the exams were held at 18 centres in Coimbatore district. A total of 7,742 candidates have registered for the exam.

Seven Assistant Co-ordinating Supervisors in the cadre of Tahsildar and one Examination Centre Inspection Officer each in the cadre of Tahsildar were appointed in the presence of the District Nodal Observer of The Central Public Service Commission and the Deputy Collector headed by the District Collector, Coimbatore.



Further, a total of 682 Room Superintendents have been appointed in the cadre of Deputy Tahsildar through 39 Assistant Superintendents of Examination Centres, 341 Room Superintendents through District Administration and 341 Room Superintendents through Examination Centre Superintendents.



In order to oversee the examination, an officer in the rank of Deputy Director and a Special Superintendent of The State Government have been appointed by the Central Public Service Commission to review the performance of the examination.



Security arrangements have been made for the examination centres by the police. Signal jammers have been installed at all the exam centres where the exam will be held. The examination centre has also been provided with uninterrupted power supply by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
