Four linearly arranged tiled houses are located in Yamuna Nagar area of Toppampatti adjacent to Thudiyalur. Both Tamilians and North Indian families reside in this area. Last night around 10 PM, cooking was underway at the house of one Nagaraj. Suddenly, the gas cylinder developed a leak and caught fire, leading to the accident.
The Kavundampalayam Fire and Rescue Services were immediately informed. Fire personnel who rushed to the spot immediately began firefighting operations. However, by then the fire had spread rapidly and began engulfing neighboring houses as well.
As the fire spread more vigorously, the gas cylinder in another nearby house also exploded and scattered. The second cylinder explosion intensified the fire's severity. After battling fiercely for approximately two hours, the fire personnel completely extinguished the blaze.
In this accident, all four tiled houses were completely destroyed by fire. All the belongings inside turned to ash. Since residents from nearby houses immediately ran out when the fire broke out, fortunately no casualties occurred. Everyone from the affected houses escaped safely.
