Robbery at adjacent shops in Pollachi - Police investigating

In a shocking incident, two xerox shops and a utensil shop in a private shopping complex on Balagopalapuram Road in Pollachi were robbed of cash by miscreants.


Coimbatore: The subsequent incident of robbery in Pollachi has left the public in a state of panic.

Senthil Kumar runs a xerox shop in a private shopping complex on Balagopalapuram Road in Pollachi in Coimbatore district. As usual, he locked the shop last night and went home.

When he came to open the shop this morning, he was shocked to find that the lock of the shop was broken.

When they walked inside, they discovered that Rs 2 lakh had been stolen from the kalla box. They also took away the CCTV cameras installed in his shop.

Similarly, miscreants broke open the lock of a Xerox shop owned by one Sagayaraj nearby and stole Rs 4,000 cash from the shop and broke open the lock of a utensils shop on the next street and indulged in a robbery attempt.

The shop owners informed the police about the incident and the police from east police station, who rushed to the spot, examined the clues and are on the lookout for the miscreants who looted the money.

The incident has created panic among the people and traders of the area.
