Remove anti-Muslim scenes from The Kerala Story - SP Velumani

Speaking at a function at Ukkadam in Coimbatore, MLA S P Velumani said that any film should not hurt any religion. He also said that scenes against Muslims should be removed from the recently released movie The Kerala Story.

Coimbatore: Former AIADMK minister S P Velumani has said that anti-Muslim scenes from the movie 'The Kerala Story' should be removed.

A ceremony was held at G M Nagar near Ukkadam in Coimbatore district to join the AIADMK after quitting an alternative party.

In the presence of former AIADMK minister SP Velumani, MLAs Amman Arjunan and K R Jayaram, several people from the area joined the AIADMK.

Following this, SP Velumani spoke on the occasion. “None of the promises made at the time of elections have been fulfilled in this regime. Minorities are being cheated, as well as kabarstan (madhyawadi) where the minorities have fought for 50 years, which we set up during the last AIADMK regime.

The recently released movie 'The Kerala Story' has been opposed by islam and jamaat organisations. No film should hurt any religion. During the previous AIADMK regime, kamal haasan's 'Vishwaroopam' had all the scenes opposed by Muslim organisations and were removed and released.

Similarly, the present government should remove certain scenes from the film 'The Kerala Story' which are against Muslims and release it. “
