Bees attack 15 people, including a 4-year-old girl in a temple near Dharapuram

15 people, including a four-year-old girl, were injured when bees attacked the public who had gone to a temple near Dharapuram. All the victims have been admitted to Dharapuram government hospital for treatment.



Tirupur: There is an old Temple of Kattamman in Therpatti village near Dharapuram in Tirupur district. On Sundays, a large number of devotees used to go to the temple to offer prayers. Accordingly, the villagers of Therpatti area visited the Kattamman temple yesterday.

While the devotees were celebrating with Pongal, the bees started swarming on the devotees due to the smoke that arose from the cooking.



The injured have been identified as Maha (4), Sundarapandi (11), Priyanka (21), Sukanya (28), Priya (32), Kavitha (33), Sakthivel (40), Kanyathal (58) and Valliammal (75).

All of them were immediately rushed to Dharapuram government hospital for treatment. Two people are being treated at a government hospital in a critical condition.

In a shocking incident, devotees who had gone to offer prayers at the temple were bitten by bees in Dharapuram area.
