City Corporation inks MOU with Tata Power to set up 20 EV charging stations at the vital locations

The users can easily locate charging stations via a dedicated App Tata Power Ez Charge. The EVs can be charged up to 80% in 60 minutes and payment could be made through the App.


Coimbatore: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the City Corporation and Tata Power to set up Power Fast Charging stations across the city. The charging stations for EV vehicles would come up in 20 vital locations, including Racecourse area

Commissioner Pratap and Tata Power's Sales Head Virendra Goyal signed the MOU in the presence of Arvind Subramanian, Manager, Tata Power, (South India).

“The increasing number of electric vehicles in Coimbatore Corporation limits has brought many benefits to the environment and the general public. With a view to augmenting the EV conversion among the public charging stations are being set up at 20 locations in Coimbatore Corporation limits” Commissioner Prathap said.

It is proposed to set up charging stations at 20 locations including four places in Race Course area, two places each in Avinashi Road VOC Park, two locations in Valankulam, one place in Periyakulam, three locations in R S Puram.
