Soldier martyred in Punjab: bodily remains arrive in Coimbatore Airport

Two of the four martyred soldiers in Bathinda, Punjab were from Tamil Nadu. Kamlesh, a resident of Mettur in Salem district, was one of the killed army personnel.



Coimbatore: Four jawans were killed during an unexpected firing at Punjab's Bathinda army camp on Wednesday. Reportedly, two of the martyred soldiers were from Tamil Nadu. Kamlesh, a resident of Mettur in Salem district, was one of the killed army personnel.

The bodies of the soldiers were sent for autopsy and a probe is underway to identify the anonymous attack at the Indian base camp.

In this situation, following the necropsy procedures, the bodies of jawans were sent to their hometowns through special air services and were received with due respect by the army personnels.



In this case, the body of Kamalesh arrived at Coimbatore International Airport at the Cargo depot on Friday. His body was received with a reverential assemblage of armed forces paying tribute with garlands. Reportedly his body was taken through an Ambulance to Salem from Coimbatore and would reach within an hour.



Kamlesh hails from a forest village near Mettur in the Salem district. Kamlesh is the second son of the Selvamani couple and is unmarried. He united himself with the Indian Army in 2019 and has been serving for 4 years.

Meanwhile, two soldiers from Tamil Nadu were killed in the firing in Punjab state, one of them Kamalesh, who was kept at the Punjab army camp yesterday, was brought to the Coimbatore airport by plane.
