For the second day in consecutively, a forest fire broke out in Alandurai's Nathe Goundanpudur area in the Western Ghats. More than 40 fire tenders are involved in the operation.
It has been claimed that almost 50 hectares of forest cover had already been burned out of about 150 hectares of land.
The forest department and the district collector discussed this. In this situation, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati visited the area where the forest fire is spreading. He also spoke with district forest officer Jeyaraj about the work to douse the fire and offered ideas.
