26th ward councilor Chitra Velliangiri soars high in Coimbatore with petition

As sewage water continues to run out at the junction of Avinashi Road and Pioneer Mill Road in Coimbatore, 26th ward councillor Chitra Velliangiri has filed a complaint with the collector, requesting immediate action.

Coimbatore : A petition day camp was held at the Collectorate auditorium in Coimbatore. Chitra Velliangiri, a member of Ward 26, filed a complaint in this regard.District Collector Kranthi Kumar Padi presided over the grievance redressal day meeting at the Collectorate auditorium in Coimbatore.

It was attended by officials from many departments. Participants in the conference offered their demands in the form of petitions.

The construction of a storm water drain from Pioneer Mill Road to E2 police station in the lower reaches of the ongoing Avinashi Road flyover works has been delayed.

This has resulted in a constant discharge of sewage water at the intersection of Avinashi Road and Pioneer Mill Road for three to four months, causing traffic annoyance.

Chitra Velliangiri, a member of the 26th ward, has filed a petition to fix this and distribute free dhoti-sarees to ration card holders in the same region.

The Collector has directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action after receiving the petition.
