Deputy mayor inspects - Violations of rules at Tirupur Bus Stand shops!

Corporation Deputy Mayor Balasubramaniyam conducted an unexpected inspection of the Corporation's shops at Tiruppur's Old Bus Stand. He warned to take action against proprietors of shops who disobeyed the restrictions.

Tirupur: Last year, the Smart City Project spent Rs 38.81 crore building the outdated bus stand on Kamarajar Salai in Tiruppur.

Currently, the old bus stand is home to more than 80 shops, including cell phone stores, bakeries, and restaurants.

Meanwhile, the city administration received a complaint that the shopkeepers had placed items outside the businesses to annoy commuters arriving at the bus stop, and that a few retailers

had set up shops on footpaths without permission, removed the walls of the shops, and constructed a separate room.

Following that, deputy mayor Balasubramaniyam conducted a surprise inspection of the corporation's shops at the old bus stand.

At the time, it was found that the majority of the stores had established up shop in violation of the standards in order to create inconvenience to passengers arriving at the bus stand, and had

demolished the shops without receiving authorization from the corporation administration and built up a separate room.

After conferring with the mayor and the corporation's commissioner, Deputy Mayor Balasubramanian stated that action would be taken against the store owners who broke the guidelines.
