People are increasingly encountering heart-related problems in the recent past. Previously, only the elderly were affected by heart difficulties, but now everyone, from the young to the old, is being treated for a heart condition. There are also fatalities, particularly from heart attacks.
A walkathon was held on behalf of a private (KG) hospital in Coimbatore's Race Road neighborhood to raise public awareness about this.
The event commenced off by Dr Bhaktavachalam, Chairman of KG Hospital. The walk began in the hospital grounds and continued through the court and the south tahsildar's office road.
A number of doctors and nurses marched with banners that read high blood pressure is dangerous, heart failure is not a heart attack, smoke is an enemy of the heart, diet is medicine,
