Coimbatore: Residents of Kalapatti Periyar Nagar on Tuesday petitioned the City Mayor Kalpana praying to extend basic amentias including roads to the neglected area residents.

Alleging that the battered roads have not been laid for decades, the residents claimed that there have been no basic facilities extended for the past three decades.
Roads have been laid only decades back and it is in very bad condition, they said and added that adequate facilities including drainage and drinking water not extended to them.

“The petitioners alleged that the lands in the area have been encroached on by private individuals for which no action has been taken” the residents said.
