Jamabandi held for school recognition and renewal licence in Coimbatore

The circular pointed out that schools waiting for the renewal of their licence should file the documents as per government norms as soon as possible. In case of failure, measures will be initiated for the immediate closure of the identified schools.

Coimbatore: The District education department has issued a circular warning against the inappropriate function of private schools in the Coimbatore district.

The circular pointed out that schools waiting for the renewal of their licence should file the documents as per government norms as soon as possible. In case of failure, measures will be initiated for the immediate closure of the identified schools.

It was stated that a few primary schools are functional without the renewal of formal documentation across the district. It also includes cases wherein a few of them have been established on government-owned land. Besides intruding on government land, they oppose the officials during interrogation. Evacuation of such space will soon be initiated with the approval of the District Collector.

The circular also pointed out the new regulations for the Playschools and Primary schools individually. It mentioned that a space of 5.5 cents of land and 16.5 cents of land must be documented under the school's name for a period of 15 years for Playschools and Primary schools respectively. Teachers with an applicable educational qualification that includes Montessori training must be employed.

It informed that for the past three days, Jamabandi was held in Coimbatore, wherein the first phase of the call for Matriculation schools was initiated. A total of 240 schools participated in this. Jamabandi for playschools and primary schools will be conducted in the upcoming weeks.
