The car fell into a trench dug for the bridge works near Ramakrishna Mission on the way to Periyanaickenpalayam from Coimbatore late last night.
Coimbatore: Two occupants of a car had a miraculous escape when it overturned after hitting a trench dug for flyover works at Periyanaickenpalayam.
Flyover works are in progress at G.N. Mills and Periyanaickenpalayam area on Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore. As a result, motorists are using narrow stretches to traverse the road.

Subramani and Ashok, both residents of Coimbatore, were travelling in the car and they escaped unhurt. The two were on their way to a relative's house function in Periyanaickenpalayam when the driver lost control of the car and overturned.
Subramani, who was driving the car, was said to have fallen asleep behind the wheel when the accident took place.
Police are investigating.
