Coimbatore: Police arrested Manoj, son of Easwaran from Idukki, Kerala for breaking into a private bank and looting money and cash to the tune of many lakhs.
According to police, the arrested person broke into the IDFC bank branch at Annur in the middle of the night and looted money and jewellery from the locker intending to live a luxurious life.
A complaint was lodged at the Annur police station that the locker of the bank was broken on December 20 last year at midnight and cash and jewellery worth around Rs 3 lakh were looted from the locker.
Based on the complaint, Police scrutinized the CCTV footage which revealed the details of the bank robbery.
It was also revealed that the youth had also frequented the bank , He is identified as Manoj, a painter, living in Karumathampatti. Police said that the arrested person had spent his stolen money to travel from Coimbatore to various cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.
Based on the investigation, Manoj was arrested and produced in Annur court and sent to judicial custody.
