Man assaults wife's family for dowry near Palladam

Vijayan and Mohanapriya got married a year ago near Palladam. In this case, Vijayan barged into Mohanapriya's house in the middle of the night and attacked her family members demanding dowry.



Tirupur: In a shocking incident, a youth allegedly assaulted his wife's family in the middle of the night demanding dowry near Palladam.

Vijayan hails from Pukkilipalayam near Palladam in Tirupur district. He runs a studio in Mangalam.



He and Mohanapriya, the daughter of Moorthy of the same locality, got married a year ago despite opposition from their parents.

Within four months of their marriage, Vijayan allegedly harassed Mohanapriya for dowry.



Mohanapriya has also lodged a complaint against Vijayan at palladam women's police station in this regard.



While the Palladam women's police are investigating, Vijayan, who came with his goons last night, barged into Mohanapriya's house and attacked her family.

Mohanapriya's father Moorthy and his mother have been admitted to Palladam government hospital for treatment. A video of Vijayan entering Mohanapriya's house and attacking her has gone viral on social media.

He also alleged that he was harassed for dowry within a year of his love marriage. To take strict action against Vijayan and save his daughter's life. Mohanapriya's father has also requested for protection for them.
