Mayor inspects development works in Coimbatore

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar inaugurated new development works worth Rs 73 lakh in the areas falling under the north zone of Coimbatore corporation by performing bhoomi pooja.


Coimbatore: Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar inspected the ongoing development projects in the areas falling under coimbatore north zone.

Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar performed bhoomi pooja and inaugurated the additional classroom and development work at LGB Nagar Corporation Primary School, Saravanampatti, under ward no.21 of Coimbatore Corporation North Zone at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh from public funds.

Subsequently, she inaugurated the construction of a new storm water drain at Saravanampatti, Kumaran Street and Gandhi Street under Ward No.11 of North Zone at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh from the public fund for a distance of 300 metres.

Subsequently, construction of a new storm water drain for a distance of 100 metres at an estimated cost of Rs 23 lakhs from the public fund on Saravanampatti, Sathy Main Road under North Zone Ward No.10. She also inaugurated the construction of a new storm water drain at Amman Nagar in Saravanampatti at an estimated cost of Rs.10 lakhs from public funds.

Earlier in the day, the Mayor inspected and inspected the ongoing pipe laying works by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board at Saravanampatti, Poompuhar Nagar under ward no.10. Instructing the concerned officer to complete the works expeditiously.



Construction of new tar roads under Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Roads Development Project (2022-2023) in Coimbatore Corporation, North Zone, Boyer Road and Hospital Road under Ward No.10. She alsoinspectedthe newly constructed asphalt road works for a distance of 2.5 km under The Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Roads Development Project (TURIP 2022-2023) at a cost of Rs.99 lakh in Nehru Nagar area under ward no.19.



Subsequently, construction of new class room at Maniyakarampalayam Corporation Higher Secondary School under North Zone Ward No.19 at an estimated cost of Rs.99 lakh. Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar also inspected the construction of a new storm water drain at kalpana layout at an estimated cost of Rs 24 lakh. She instructed to complete the construction work expeditiously and put it to use.



North Zone President Kathirvel, Councillors Palaniswami (alias) Shravai Siva, Poongodi Somasundaram, Regional Health Officer Radhakrishnan, Assistant Engineers Sakthivel and Elangovan, Health Inspector Loganathan and Corporation officials were present during the events.
