Man killed in broad daylight near Coimbatore court area

In the densely populated Gopalapuram near the Coimbatore district court premises, a five-member gang attacked two young men, Gokul and Manoj, with sickles, knives and sticks in broad daylight. Ramesh died on the spot. Manoj has been admitted to Coimbatore government hospital with a cut on his head.

Gopalapuram area is situated at the rear entrance of the Coimbatore district court complex. Lawyers' offices, private hotels, film distributors' offices, hotels, etc. are functioning here.

There is always a lot of movement of people in the area from morning till night. In this case, after 10 am this morning, two youths were chased away by a gang of five men.

Sickles, knives and sticks attacked both of them. A man was hacked to death with a sickle and hacked to death on the spot.



People in the area who witnessed the murder shouted in shock. They ran here and there in fear. The gang hacked another person to his head with a sickle and escaped in the blink of an eye. The police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem.



Another person with a sickle cut was rescued and sent to Coimbatore government hospital for treatment.

The police are investigating the matter as to who is the person who was hacked to death, the person who is being treated for injuries and what is the reason for the mob killing them?.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased has been identified as Gokul, a native of Keeranatham and the injured has been identified as Manoj, a resident of Sivananda Colony.

The duo were on the way to the Coimbatore district court today for a hearing in a case against them, when they were murderously attacked.
