Villagers chase away marauding wild elephants with gentle words 'Po Raja Po' near Thondamuthur

A video of the villagers chasing away wild elephants with endearing words “Po Raja Po” has set the social media abuzz.



Coimbatore: Five wild elephants, along with calves, which entered a village adjacent to Thaliyur forest area near Thondamuthur in Coimbatore in the wee hours today were cajoled to return back to the villagers.



When the elephants crossed the road the residents gently chased away the wild elephants by uttering kind words like "Po Raja Po".



Following this, the wild elephants retreated into a nearby forest. The visuals, which were captured on the mobile phones were doing rounds in social media.
