Speeding Car mows down an eight-year-old boy near Podanur

A CCTV footage of an eight-year-old boy, who was killed after being hit by a car near Podanur had gone viral in social media.



Coimbatore: Basheeth hails from Washermenpet in Podanur and he works as a Manager in a private company. His son Raibuddin (8) was studying in Class three at a private school in Podanur.

The boy, Raibuddin, had gone to play on his bicycle on Sunday, when a car hit him.

Syed Mohammad Feroz, a resident of the same locality, who operated the car dashed against the boy , in which he was thrown away from his bicycle.



Even though the injured boy's parents immediately rushed him to the hospital, the boy succumbed while being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

It has been revealed that Feroze, instead of putting on reverse gear, had mistakenly put on the first gear, which caused the accident.

In this case, the CCTV footage of the accident, which took place in a cinematic style, has set the social media abuzz.
