Sankara College of Science and Commerce gets Autonomous status granted by UGC

Sankara College of Science and Commerce has been granted Autonomous status by UGC which is approved by Syndicate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for the period of 10 years.



Coimbatore: Sankara College of Science and Commerce has been granted Autonomous status by UGC which is approved by Syndicate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for the period of 10 years.

NAAC recently accredited the institution with an A+ grade in its second cycle. It is recognized under 2F and 12B by UGC, It is Self-Financed and affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi for MBA Programme and it is an ISO 9001: 2015 certified.

Currently the institution offers UG, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. Programmes in science commerce, management and hotel management.

The college has an effective learner-centric environment to provide quality education and all-round development to the students’ community.

The college over the years has constantly registered growth in all the aspects like Curricular Aspects, teaching and Learning, Research, Innovation & Extension, Infrastructure Facilities, Students Support, Governance and Leadership, Best Practices etc.

By implementing Autonomous, the institution will offer an academic programme in innovative ways by following global standards aligned with industry requirements and also grooms the students to embrace lifelong learning with ethical values.



Speaking about this recognition to SimpliCity, Nithya Ramachandran, Deputy Joint secretary was elated and thanked the team.

She said, "We are happy to announce that the Sankara College of Science and Commerce is granted Autonomous status by UGC, Govt. of India and approved by Syndicate of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for the period of 10 years.

“By going Autonomous, the institution will offer academic programmes in innovative ways by following global standards aligned with industry requirements and also groom the students to embrace lifelong learning alongside ethical values”.

“As an Autonomous institution, we have the liberty to design, develop, execute and evaluate the programmes which prepare the students towards man making and nation building” she said.
